Information for 2009-2010 School Year

Welcome to Fit by Five Preschool! Our goal is to have each child have a positive experience in school as this will help set the tone for the many years of learning ahead. Please read through the information and many of your questions may be answered regarding the upcoming months. Please feel free to come during preschool hours to watch your child anytime or call the gym with any questions or concerns you may have.

Tuition Policy: Tuition is $150.00 per month for two days a week. Tuition is $220.00 for three days a week. These prices are valid if paid by the 15th of every month. Please pay tuition to the secretaries in the office.

Registration Fee: There is a $60.00 registration fee. This fee covers a Fit by Five shirt, school bag, snacks, craft materials, and field trip fees throughout the year.

Field Trips: During this school year the class will go on 3 or 4 field trips. The registration fee paid at the beginning of the school year includes field trip fees. To be able to go on field trips I will need to have parents help provide transportation and volunteer supervision of the group. If you are able to come on a particular field trip I would encourage you to make other arrangements for younger children so you can spend special time interacting with your student and their preschool friends. I will let you know dates of these special educational experiences on your monthly newsletter.

School/Gym Attire: We recommend girls wear a leotard under their clothes. Boys can wear pants that are easy to move in and a comfortable shirt. Children should wear things they can put on and off themselves. Sometimes buttons, lace up shoes, and zippers are difficult tasks for children. Elastic waistbands and slip on shoes are a good idea. Also, some days we will paint so please have your child wear clothes that can be painted in because we will get messy! Please wear Fit By Five shirt on field trip days.

Curriculum Overview: Each school day students will spend time learning in the following areas: language art (letter recognition and writing skills) math (shapes, numbers, colors, simple addition, and simple subtraction), science, dramatic play, music and art. Small motor skills and finger dexterity such as cutting and writing will be developed and large motor skills will be developed through the activities during gymnastics/fitness. Coordination skills, listening skills, and following instructions will also be worked on during preschool.
